The Central Concert Hall «Kazakhstan»
The “Kazakhstan” Central Concert Hall is one of the most important architectural buildings of the republic being a unique cultural center. It is intended for running public events: concerts of different genres, theatre productions, official meetings, entertainment shows, presentations, conferences, film screenings and exhibitions.
The “Kazakhstan” Central Concert Hall is one of the largest halls in the world. It is designed for three thousand five hundred seats (if necessary, it can be transformed in a smaller area). The concert hall, erected in the center of Astana, is a striking traveler attraction of the capital. The building, attracting tourists, is retained in their memory primarily thanks to its extraordinary form, which is compared with drop-down flower petals. The author of the project, a prominent Italian architect maestro Manfredi Nicoletti, called his creation “a flower in the desert”
In addition to the large auditorium, there are two meeting rooms, a ballroom, and a piazza-lobby with cozy sitting areas, cafes, restaurants, shops, booking offices and a dance floor in the building. The official opening of the “Kazakhstan” Central Concert Hall was held on December 16, 2009 and was timed to coincide with the 18th anniversary of Independence of the Republic of Kazakhstan. We shall note that a luxurious auditorium is designed in the form of the national instrument dombra; the lobby interior is decorated with works of Kazakh artists and sculptors. Consequently, a very modern architectural masterpiece of Italian maestro - the “Kazakhstan” Central Concert Hall - harmoniously brings together intertwined cultural traditions of East and West, unique heritage of the past and the most daring ideas of contemporary architectural thought.
